 Rockhounding sites

The Mojave Desert is a very interesting geological area. Rockhounds can find many different types of gems and minerals throughout the region. Sites for excellent specimens of crystals, geodes, agate, jasper, and much more are found here.

These are just a few of the sites. We'll be adding more, and viewers are welcome to email us with directions to other sites. Also, we'll be adding GPS coordinates and photos to as many sites as we can.

Some of the collecting areas have been claimed, either by private parties or rock clubs. Usually, rock clubs will allow collecting, with no fee or restrictions. But some private claim owners do not allow public access or they charge a fee. If an area is posted with no trespassing signs, or other restrictions, please let us know so we can include that info in this guide.
