Mt. Whitney from Lone Pine, CA

It was bitter cold and the wind was blowing so strongly I had to brace my tripod to get this picture. Ok, Mt. Whitney isn't on the desert, and Lone Pine isn't either - but it's close. The Alabama Hills in the foreground are much like a desert, and the Mojave is north and east.
